In the second episode of ‘My Story’ presented by European Athletics, Norway’s Karsten Warholm tells the story of his remarkable career all the way from running his first ever race in a pair of jeans and a t-shirt to becoming the best 400m hurdler in the world.
Warholm spoke exclusively with European Athletics for the series and the mini-documentary also features rarely-seen footage from Warholm’s formative years in the sport. “A friend of mine was at the local athletics club. He asked me if I wanted to run the race that was there. I joined in my jeans and t-shirt and I won the race. It felt like this was something I had a talent for,” said Warholm on his earliest memories of athletics.
Warholm also reflects on his friendship with his coach Leif-Olav Alnes and looks back at his title-winning runs at the 2018 European Athletics Championships in Berlin and the 2019 European Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow.
The third episode of ‘My Story’ will be released on 24 December.
